Take a moment to do something kind

15th – 21st February is Random Acts of Kindness Week – but we’re celebrating all month! And, since kindness is about giving to others, we’ve created our own Random Acts of Kindness giveaway!

All around us, people are quietly being kind to each other: finding time in their day to make time for others; supporting a colleague who’s overloaded or stressed; taking time to phone a friend, instead of firing off a quick text; crossing continents to be at a loved one’s side, or simply helping someone to cross a busy street.

Kindness is like a ripple in a pond. The kinder you are, the more kindness you attract, and the more your acts inspire others to be kind in turn.

How to enter our Random Acts of Kindness giveaway

In February, we’re inviting you to nominate somebody who either deserves kindness, or spreads kindness. A friend or family member who needs a little extra love and uplift right now, or someone who always goes out of their way to be kind to others. If someone you know deserves a kindness award – get nominating!

To enter, comment on our ‘Take a moment to be kind’ Instagram giveaway post, (published on 13th February) and tag a friend, family member or colleague, or anyone who you feel deserves a random act of kindness gift, and tell us why in the comments.

And this year, both the nominator and the nominee win pens. Because calling out kindness in all its forms, is deserving too.

An act of kindness can make someone’s day

Taking a moment to be kind rewards both the giver, and the receiver. We all feel better about ourselves when we do something kind, and being kind is simply making a positive, proactive choice to take the initiative – and act.

Kindness is a great habit to get into, and, like all habits, the more you practise, the better you get. Take a moment to reflect on all the people in your life, including the strangers that you know by sight, if not by name. Ask yourself, how could you help them? Sometimes, simply saying, “Hello” to the person you see every day on the school run, shows someone they’re not as invisible as they imagine.

If it helps to make a list – and it always does – pick your favourite Sarasa Clip gel pen and make some kindness commitments. There are so many ways to make our world a kinder place. Or create a ‘kindness-themed’ spread in your journal to record kindness in action, whether that’s sending your best friend a handwritten card out of the blue, or offering to take some tasks off someone else’s to-do list. Instead of a bucket list of places you’d like to visit, why not create a bucket list of acts of kindness you could do for others?

Being kind is about being a driver in life, not a passenger. Take a moment to nominate someone you love, because they always go the extra mile, or they could do with some extra T.L.C. right now.

No purchase necessary. The Zebra Pen UK ‘Take a moment’ Instagram giveaway runs from 10:00 13th February to 17:00 20th February 2026. To enter the draw, tag a friend in the comments of our giveaway post, and tell us why you think they deserve to win a prize. Maximum of three nominations per person but each nomination must be tagged in a separate comment with a separate reason. Only one prize will be awarded per person. Ten entries will be selected at random, and prizes will be awarded to the nominator AND the nominee: 20 prizes in total. Prize is a Sarasa Clip 0.5 ‘A calming moment’ 5-pack. UK entrants only.
